Dear Parents,
We are looking for a volunteer to become our honorary treasurer. Our last treasurer retired as of August 31st.
The treasurer looks after the Group’s Finances. This minimises the section leaders administration responsibilities, freeing them up to spend the maximum amount of time possible on scouting with the children.
The main duties are
1. Banking money received from scouts (subs / Summer camp / scout activiites)
2. Paying expenses (monthly rent, annual insurance and expenses as required by scout / cub / venture leaders )
3. Maintaining a record of finances and making an annual return to Scouting Ireland
4. Attend Group Council meetings approx 3 times a year. (these are meetings that all 54th scout leaders attend to review the Group’s activities and make plans for the future)
This is not rocket science so anyone good organisation skills can do it.
The previous treasurer (Maeve Grogan) will do a full handover.
If you have any queries please call me on 085 1544155
Kind Regards
David Flanagan
Honorary Group Treasurer
